obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise: Faith, Hope and Love 187.
Author: Robert W. Christensen
This book by Dr. Christensen is a Trilogy of his earlier books on those same three topics. FAITH: I suspect we all go through life wondering, what is faith? From the time we are just infants we have to believe for and have faith for all sorts of things. Will mother remember to feed me? Will I get picked up out of my crib today? To all sorts of things from that moment on. As we get instruction about God and our relationship with God, we then get to be a bit like the original disciples who made the statement to Jesus about increasing our faith. In Romans 10:8 we see the statement, "The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is the word of faith that we preach." But what is faith? In talking about it in the spiritual or religious realm, we are talking about having faith in God. If we say we have faith in God, are we really saying we can lay our lives down for God? To have complete faith in what he says, he will do? Total dependence on God just as when we were babies, we had total dependence on our mothers or fathers. So, now, if we have confessed Jesus as our Lord and Savior, are we willing to be obedient to His every command? Is that where faith begins? HOPE: Our hope is in fervently and completely trusting our Lord. In the 3rd Psalm, King David is fleeing from Absalom, his son who is out to slay him. Now, that is one serious circumstance which I am sure all of us can agree would cause discouragement and despair. David makes a number of statements in that Psalm which can give us hope, when it seems there is no hope. LOVE: The Bible has a great deal to say about Love and if we were to review the message and ministry of Jesus Christ, we would find the central theme has to do with love. It basically has to do with loving God and then loving your neighbor as yourself. Sounds easy doesn't? But it will likely take your whole life in your attempt to fulfill that command of the Lord.

As a Florida broker, I have started a real estate blog, but would also like to use my efforts for encouragement to others out there in the spiritual realm, as well as the material world. Though we all have hopes and dreams of a better tomorrow, which oftentimes is in the form of material acquisition, it’s our spiritual journey and personal connections that make our life really rich.

It may be an oversimplification to say that faith, hope, and love are all we need. But with an understanding of what these three are, we have a better understanding of what they can do in our lives. Our focus will turn from our needs and wants to what leads us into the answer of all these things—faith, hope, and love, which we find through our relationships with Jesus. It is simple but not always easy to allow the control of our life to transfer from us to God. It is important to know these three, what they are, and how we interact with them. We want to look at these three as the following: • Faith, the God-Possible • Hope, the God-Perspective • Love, the God-Power In these three we make all things about Jesus and less about us. The more we live in these three, the more we become like Him. These three, faith, hope, and love, will do the work to establish the kingdom of God in us and in others.

The Story of Faith, Hope and Love is a book about discovering God's nature, character, love, justice, forgiveness, and truth. The Bible answers these questions and offers people hope for eternal life. This book answers important questions that inquiring minds might wonder about. For example: where did people come from? What is the purpose of their existance? What happens to them when they die? Does their spirit live forever? What happens to the spirit of people when the body dies? This book gives an answer to all these questions and offers people hope for eternal life. If this book is read without prejudice, it will have the intended effect of producing faith in God. Faith will lead to a desire to obey God and except Jesus Christ as the Son of God, which can lead to eternal life. The story of faith, hope and love would be a great help to anyone in the missionary field as well as being an aid for Bible School teachers or anyone wanting to know more about the teachings of the Bible and their own personal salvation.

Often Christian interfaith engagement has been viewed through the lense of theology of religions where the primary questions are often about the salvific destiny of people of other faiths. 'Faith, Hope and Love' offers an alternative approach asking how do Christian interfaith practitioners live out their discipleship in a multi-faith world? And what, theologically, is being expressed in their activity? Demonstrating a new and innovative approach to interfaith engagement, this book argues for theological reflection on the multi faith reality of our society to focus on the practice of Christian interfaith engagement, drawing on the methodology of practical theology to explore the impact of encounter on Christian self-understanding. It suggests that other faith traditions are no longer a theological problem to be solved or people to be ‘saved’ but a potential ‘means of grace’ in which the Christian disciple learns more about God and grows in their relationship with Christ.

As a young child, I was an avid reader and a lover of nature. From nursery rhymes and children stories, the love for books became a way of learning and absorbing the world around me. As the wonders and mysteries grew into a continuous thread entwined around my own life, I began to write my thoughts into words. Poetry became my focus and my life-long search to untangle the threads of life woven together in our present world of joys and sorrows that make up the title of this book "Tapestry of Love." It is my hope and earnest desire that you will enjoy reading these poems as much as I have enjoyed composing them.
