"Fans of Jeff Abbott and Karin Slaughter will find this crime novel hard to put down." --Publishers Weekly on The Third to Die New York Times bestselling author Allison Brennan's latest suspense is about a college senior's podcast that delves into an unsolved campus murder of a popular sorority girl, with individual callers exploring facts previously thought to be true. Lucas Vega is obsessed with the death of Candace Swain, who left a sorority party one night and never came back. Her body was found after two weeks, but the case has grown cold. Three years later while interning at the Medical Examiner's, Lucas discovers new information, but the police are not interested. Lucas knows he has several credible pieces of the puzzle. He just isn't sure how they fit together. So he creates a podcast to revisit Candace's last hours. Then he encourages listeners to crowdsource what they remember and invites guest lecturer Regan Merritt, a former US marshal, to come on and share her expertise. New tips come in that convince Lucas and Regan they are onto something. Then shockingly one of the podcast callers turns up dead. Another hints at Candace's secret life...a much darker picture than Lucas imagined--and one that implicates other sorority sisters. Regan uses her own resources to bolster their theory and learns that Lucas is hiding his own secret. The pressure is on to solve the murder, but first Lucas must come clean about his real motives in pursuing this podcast--before the killer silences him forever.

Investigative reporter, and author of Nobody's Women, Steve Miller makes a thoroughly researched inquiry into a murder that rocked the privileged world of Grosse Pointe, Michigan. Bob Bashara: husband, father, Rotary Club president and community leader. Bob Bashara: slumlord, philanderer and BDSM enthusiast. Did he also hire a hit on his wife? Jane Bashara lived in Grosse Pointe Park, one of Metro Detroit’s wealthiest communities, when she was strangled to death in her own garage by local handyman Joe Gentz. When Joe turned himself in, he told the cops everything— including how he was hired for a hit by Jane’s husband. His payment: $2,000 and a used Cadillac. Born into one of Michigan’s elite families, Bob was sweeping out the back alley of a property he owned when his wife was being killed. He made sure the bartenders at the Hard Luck Lounge saw him there at the time of her murder. He’d often brought girlfriends by the same bar, and for the last year had been seen with one Rachel Gillett—riding around town in her convertible, even showing up at BDSM events in the suburbs of Detroit. When Joe Gentz confessed, his 67 IQ and barfly reputation made him less than credible. Bob successfully denied any part in his wife’s murder. But he couldn’t deny his attempt to have Joe killed in prison. Includes photos.

In Tallahassee, Florida, early one cold winter morning in 1978, a mad man entered the Chi Omega sorority house near the Florida State University campus, and viciously attacked four women. Two would die. A fifth woman was brutally attacked just blocks away. Authorities urgently searched for the killer leaving no stone unturned. If psychics provided persuasive links to the killer, why not use them? Joseph, a young music student, has visions of the killer. Lieutenant George Brand, an investigator on the task force, promised the victims’ families he will do what it takes to catch the assailant. Joseph brings his visions to Brand and, within weeks, Theodore Robert Bundy is arrested. Helen Baxter, a young newspaper reporter, is unexpectedly approached by Joseph, who claimed to have provided key psychic details that led to the capture of Bundy. Would Bundy have been captured without Joseph’s help? Was there a psychic link between Joseph and Bundy? Helen is skeptical, but Brand verifies Joseph’s involvement in catching the most notorious killer in recent memory. This is the true story of the hunt for, and capture of, Theodore Robert Bundy.

From award winning criminologist R. Barri Flowers and the bestselling author of Murder at the Pencil Factory and The Sex Slave Murders, comes a powerful new historical true crime short, Murder of the Banker’s Daughter: The Killing of Marion Parker. On December 15, 1927, 12-year-old Marion Parker, daughter of a prominent banker was brazenly abducted from her junior high school in Los Angeles, California in a bizarre ransom scheme. Two days later, the girl’s dismembered remains were left behind by a brutal killer, destroying a family and unnerving the entire city. This caused pandemonium as the perpetrator managed to evade immediate capture, leading to a manhunt by authorities unlike any in recent memory. The horror of the crime was reminiscent of one 14 years earlier involving 13-year-old Mary Phagan, who was murdered at a pencil factory in Atlanta, and 5 years later when the 20-month-old son of famed aviator Charles Lindbergh was abducted from the family’s New Jersey home and brutally slain. The killer of Marion Parker was identified as former bank messenger William Edward Hickman, a 19-year-old with a score to settle and an appetite for killing. The career criminal’s capture, trial, and ultimate fate captured the public’s imagination, while putting attention on the age-old vulnerability of children in this country targeted by child predators and the often tragic consequences that rings true to this day. Included with the story are bonus excerpts of R. Barri Flowers' bestselling true crime shorts, Murder at the Pencil Factory and Mass Murder in the Sky, as well as an excerpt of the author’s international bestselling true crime book, The Sex Slave Murders.

Mass Murder in the Sky: The Bombing of Flight 629 is a 7,063 word historical true crime story about mass killer, Jack Gilbert Graham. It tells the shocking story of hatred, revenge, mass murder, terrorism, and a bizarre dynamite bomb Christmas gift that brought a plane down in the Colorado sky more than half a century ago, killing all forty-four passengers and crew, and the intense investigation that resulted in bringing the killer to justice. On November 1, 1955, United Air Lines Flight 629 took off from Denver, Colorado's Stapleton Airfield en route to Portland, Oregon. Eleven minutes into the flight, there was a tremendous explosion that ended the lives of everyone aboard the ill-fated airliner. A coordinated effort between law enforcement agencies, Civil Aeronautics Board investigators, and United Air Lines officials led to identifying the killer as Jack Graham, whose very own mother was aboard the plane and targeted to die. The truth is certainly far more frightening than fiction as this tale will attest to... Bonus material includes a complete tale on British serial killers, Ian Brady and Myra Hindley by R. The “engrossing, thoroughly researched look at women who are in romantic relationships with incarcerated men”—fully updated with twenty-first-century cases (Publishers Weekly). In 1991, Sheila Isenberg’s classic study Women Who Love Men Who Kill asked the provocative question, “Why do women fall in love with convicted murderers?” Now, Isenberg returns to the same question in the age of smart phones, social media, mass shootings, and modern prison dating. The result is a compelling psychological study of prison passion in the new millennium. Isenberg conducts extensive interviews with women who seek relationships with convicted killers, as well as conversations with psychiatrists, social workers, and prison officials. She shows that many of these women know exactly what they are getting into—yet they are willing to sacrifice everything for the sake of a love without hope, promise, or consummation. This edition of Women Who Love Men Who Kill includes gripping new case studies and an absorbing look at how the digital age is revolutionizing this phenomenon. Meet the young women writing “fan fiction” featuring America’s most sadistic murderers; the killer serving consecutive life sentences for strangling his wife and smothering his toddler daughters—and the women who visit him in prison; the high-powered journalist who fell in love and risked it all for “Pharma Bro” Martin Shkreli; and many other women absorbed in online and real-life dalliances with their killer men.

Attorney and true crime writer examines the unsolved 1969 murders of two female college students whose bodies were left off the Garden State Parkway. In the early hours of May 30, 1969, the brutally stabbed bodies of two nineteen-year-old friends, Elizbeth Perry and Susan Davis, were dumped near Ocean City, New Jersey. This is the story of their case. Among the numerous suspects author and attorney Christian Barth identifies are infamous serial killers Ted Bundy and Gerald Eugene Stano, who were living within an hour’s drive from the murder scene. The killers also resided next to one another on Florida’s Death Row, and indirectly confessed to the double homicide. A culmination of more than nine years of research, Barth’s book is compiled from multiple sources, including interviews with retired New Jersey State Police detectives, law enforcement officials from other jurisdictions, federal agents, possible witnesses, victim family members, as well as information gathered from FBI case files, letters, journals, libraries, newspaper articles, and university archives. In scintillating detail, Barth presents the case, including previously undisclosed information surrounding these brutal murders, as well as an examination of recent technological advancements in crime scene analysis and FBI serial killer profiling that could help identify the killer. When all is said and done, the reader is asked to consider: Why hasn’t this cold case been solved? “The definitive book on the case of the coeds murdered on the Garden State Parkway…Barth has done a remarkable job of gathering all of the information and putting it into a readable narrative.”—William Kelley, Jersey Shore Nightbeat
