This is a book to help you quickly find the math and science information you’re looking for at the library, on websites, through publishers who sell books and magazines, organizations, etc. Think of it as my attempt to organize a framework for the worlds of math and science.

Back in the day if you got a graduate degree in almost anything, you could get a decent job. Companies and organizations hired people with social science master’s degrees because they assumed they could think deep thoughts and express themselves clearly but the mystique of a person with a graduate degree is gone in modern-day society. The internet has made knowledge easily available. The illusion that people with graduate degrees are wise and intelligent is gone because so many people got doctorates who look, talk and act like flakes. I don’t respect graduate degrees anymore unless it’s in a highly technical field. If you got a Phd in sociology, I’m thinking another bullcrapper thinking they know something when if they really did, they’d know their degree and all that stuff they learned about that fake field called sociology is modern-day crap.

Don't buy into anyone's system. Create your own. This is the way life should be lived in an ideal world. Home schooling is becoming more popular as many parents become disillusioned with public schooling and want to develop closer relationships with their children during the formative years. The mainstay of the movement seems to be Christian parents who don't like the secular/ humanistic curriculum and the so-called worldly influences of other children in public schools, hence, they choose to educate them on their own with Christian values. The other thrust seems to be that the public school system simply fails in its obligation to churn out well-educated children ready for the competitive real world. The home schooling movement, arguably started by John Holt in the 1970s, is based upon the idea that children learn better by themselves following their own natural interests.

You're probably living a comfortable life at high school where you're well-respected and have friends then you go to college and you're just another generic, average student who is not popular like you were at home. Relax. Everyone else is like you. You have to put yourself out there if you want to make friends, do fun things and enjoy the ride. The average 18 year old is massively brainwashed. He has no idea of who he is in his true nature. He's trying to achieve success by society's formula which is college. Many kids go to college not even knowing that there are no jobs for many of the social science fields. They think that if the college offers it as a major, there must be a job waiting at the end. This is so stupid. Most 18 year-olds are self-centered. They think they're special because they're going to college then they go home and try to act scholarly like those nerdy professors they've been listening to for the past four months.

I was always a library guy. When I was a kid, I used to walk to the library with my friend Peggy McGraw. That was like 1969. I guess not many other guys were into libraries. I was athletic and normal. I wasn’t a nerd. I was so interested in life that I loved to read about inventors, fairy tales, electricity and all kinds of stuff. It was a part of my nature. I believe it’s normal to be curious, intellectual and creative. I love libraries and librarians. They’re some of the best people on the planet when you stop and think about it. The entire profession is to help people. Why did I write this book? I believe in education. This book is my tribute to libraries. It’s a library structure-framework book. The thing about most libraries is that they have some free information on their websites like local job resources but you still need a card to use their databases or borrow a book. Nowadays they're always busy because they got computers that people come into use.

Generally, there are several ways to get a high school diploma: Going to school regularly during the day. Going to school at night then taking a GED test. Taking mail order/ internet high school courses. Studying on your own and taking the GED test. Take a high school equivalency test through a high school or local board of education and pass it. These are offered at some online high schools. Proving to college administrators that you have life experience and skills learned at work via taking tests which give you credits for college. As an adult, you can possibly enroll in high school with normal students, take night classes, correspondence courses at home or simply study on your own and take the GED tests. Check with the Continuing Education Office of your local Department of Education. A little known way to get your high school diploma is through the National External Diploma Program which doesn't involve any direct instruction.

The reason to do online learning, at least for a part of your education is that it's much cheaper than attending a college or school fulltime so you can hold down a job while studying from home for at least part of your degree thus avoiding the hassles of attending classes live unless you're young and curious and want the social college-school experience. Some of the benefits of distance education are: Convenience, go at your own pace. Stay home. Available anywhere over the internet. Prices are cheaper for online courses than traditional college courses. Some distance-education programs have an in-class component, particularly ones with labwork or internships. You need basic computer skills. There is teacher interaction over the internet but no face-to-face interaction. There is no social life, no friends, no classmates.

Young people want to go to college for the big social, coming of age experience but if you don’t come from a wealthy family, I say skip your fantasies of the college fun experience that you got from movies, get a job while you go to either a community college or take online courses for the first two years then attend a local college live in the flesh. When I was young, college was cheap and fun. I think the atmosphere has changed. It’s more expensive now. Pick a practical major then focus on getting that degree as quickly as possible to start making money. You can focus on your artsy explorations anytime. It’s all about making money. Make a plan and stick to it. Chapter 1. Money for College Paying for College One-Liners Take as many lower division credits as possible from a community college or online where it's cheaper. All that employers will consider is the degree itself and the name of the institution that eventually grants the degree.
