Similarly , the Bible refers to a “ prophet ” ( Hag 1 : 1 ) as " the messenger of the Lord ” ( Hag 1:13 ) , to “ prophets ” as “ the messengers of God ” ( 2 Chron 36 : 15-

As Genesis chapter twelve opens, the narrative picks up on the story of Abram, the tenth generation of Shem’s progeny. God directed Abram to move to a land that the Lord would show to him. Slowly, faithfully, generation after generation, the Lord directs, guides, and corrects Abram and his descendants through the annals of His redemption, fulfilling His promise of redemption in the birth of Jesus, Who directly descended from Abraham, through Whom all of the nations would be blest. Conceived by God’s Spirit, Jesus was also God’s Son, the Lamb of God sacrificed for the sins of the world, through Whom the creating, redeeming Lord of all creation would bring his wayward people back home to Him where they will praise His glorious Name for all eternity. The book of Genesis is not only the first book of the Bible detailing the beginnings of Creation and life as we know it, but also serves as the over-arching and pervasive sacred reference for the true understanding of the entire Bible as intended by the Author, God, the Spirit of Truth.

In a world that views absolute truth, right and wrong, andsalvation as being subject to individual interpretation, theBible's unwavering proclamations and miraculous stories seemobsolete in modern times. But it is not God's Word that haschanged. Indeed, its relevancy and its power to transform lives areintact. What has changed is the number of people who consult it.Now more than ever the need to read the Bible, to understand thebig picture of its storyline, and to grasp the relevance this hasfor your life is critical. As with its companion volume, For the Love of God-Volume2, this devotional contains a systematic 365-day plan, basedon the M'Cheyne Bible-reading schedule, that will in the course of a year guide you through the New Testament and Psalms twice and therest of the Old Testament once. In an effort to help preserve biblical thinking and living, D.A. Carson has also written thought-provoking comments andreflections regarding each day's scriptural passages. And, mostuniquely, he offers you perspective that places each reading intothe larger framework of history and God's eternal plan to deepenyour understanding of his sovereignty-and the unity and power ofhis Word.

The Pure Religion is a book of revelation given from God to reveal anew the deeper heart and meaning of the world’s religions and the Power and Presence of God, which seeks to speak to all people of all faith traditions in the world at this time. The Pure Religion is the timeless path of awakening, redemption and return to the Creator, initiated by God at the beginning of The Separation and then introduced into all worlds in the universe where intelligent life exists. The Pure Religion is God’s answer to the tragedy and suffering that living in a state of Separation from God has created in the history of religion in this world. It is the living communication from God to all life, calling all those still living in Separation to return to the unity of God and offering a pathway of return. God has spoken again, delivering a new Revelation to humanity. This Revelation is a direct reflection of the pure spirituality that lies at the heart of all the world’s religions. The New Message proclaims that no one can claim that their religion is the only true religion. Instead, there is the pure and mysterious call of God to each person in the world. This calling sounds to all people, whether they be Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Buddhist, a person of another faith or a person of no particular faith. This is an inner calling, calling to each person to go beyond the confines of belief and to enter a life of deeper experience, greater relationship and higher purpose in the world. A New Message from God has come into the world. It is an expression of the timeless pure connection with God as it has existed throughout human history and since the beginning of the manifest universe. Humanity now has direct access to this pure experience, unobstructed by human misunderstanding, authority and corruption. It has now entered the world anew. The Pure Religion is the eighth book of Volume 1 of The New Message from God.
