DISCOVER HOW TO LIVE A LIFE FREE FROM ALZHEIMER DISEASE. This book represents an important milestone in our approach to Alzheimer's disease to treat it as mysterious and inexhaustible distress almost exclusively by our genes, to understand it as multifunctional provided it can be prevented and even reversed in a large-measured diet and change of lifestyle. For the first time, patients and families affected by Alzheimer's disease - and those with high risk for this devastating disease - really have the cause for hope. An innovative plan based on scientific research and clinical results that are shown to prevent and reverse Alzheimer's disease and cognitive decline by treating metabolic imbalances with lifestyle changes. Without any doubt, this book is a worthwhile effort for anyone who is hit by someone who suffers or risks cognitive impairment. From what I can say, Bredesen's approach is widely applied to all dementia, whether officially diagnosed as Alzheimer's or not. Correct, somebody, if I'm wrong Get a Copy to Save Someone

With the recent discovery that amyloid beta protein, the cause of plaques in Alzheimer's disease, is an antimicrobial peptide produced in response to infection, many researchers are focusing on the role infection plays in the development of Alzheimer's disease. Brain studies have also identified a number of different viruses, bacteria, fungi, and protozoa in the postmortem brain specimens of Alzheimer's patients. Infection (particularly chronic, latent and persistent infections) causes an immune response that leads to inflammation and brain cell degeneration, which are characteristic features of Alzheimer's disease. Sources of infection in Alzheimer's disease vary from childhood infections to gut microbes that find their way into the brain as a result of aging, leaky gut syndrome, and increased permeability of the blood brain barrier. Studies and ongoing clinical trials show that treatment of viral and bacterial infections, as well as restoring a healthy balance to the gut microbiome, can reduce disease risk and improve symptoms in patients with Alzheimer's disease. This book serves as an introduction to the human microbiome and the role that infection plays in the development of Alzheimer's disease.

Aging is one of the most compelling issues today, with record numbers of seniors over sixty-five worldwide. Gray Matters: Finding Meaning in the Stories of Later Life examines a diverse array of cultural works including films, literature, and even art that represent this time of life, often made by people who are seniors themselves. These works, focusing on important topics such as housing, memory loss, and intimacy, are analyzed in dialogue with recent research to explore how “stories” illuminate the dynamics of growing old by blending fact with imagination. Gray Matters also incorporates the life experiences of seniors gathered from over two hundred in-depth surveys with a range of questions on growing old, not often included in other age studies works. Combining cultural texts, gerontology research, and observations from older adults will give all readers a fuller picture of the struggles and pleasures of aging and avoids over-simplified representations of the process as all negative or positive.
