I Am Brave I Am Strong I Am Kind

I Am Brave I Am Strong I Am Kind

He told me I was His and He was mine. He held my face in His hands and told me the truth. He told me no matter what He'd never leave me. He told me I was brave enough to face the enemy and I was strong enough to decipher his lies.

There is a lie trying to forge roots into the hearts of those of us that follow Jesus. This lie will steal our joy, ransack our hearts, and leave us bitter. We can hear the lie when someone denies the bravery that they hold as a child of God. We can see it when someone backs down from doing what God asks them to do. We can feel it when the strength it takes to be kind is fleeting. This lie can overwhelm us. It can keep us frozen in fear and make us walk away from doing what we know is right. This lie will keep us in the same spiritual place that we have been for the last ten years. Our enemy will whisper to us the lie that we are not brave, we are not strong, and we are not kind. But the truth that exists in God's word tells us something so very different and defeats every lie told to us. Through Jesus, we are brave enough to do anything He could ask us to do. We are strong enough to push through any fear and overcome. We are kind enough to show the overwhelmed person the love that was first shown to us. We have to learn how to overcome the enemy's lies about who he says we are and live in the chain-breaking truth about who God says we are! I think it's time that we learned to live this life as overcomers, victors, and redeemed children of God. We have to walk in His truth and learn to define ourselves by who God says we are! I am brave. I am strong. I am kind. So are you, child of God. Learn to live it!

Audrey Montgomery was good at keeping her past behind her, even after her attack went viral. Caught up in her prestigious career, it was easy to hide her insecurities behind a gleaming chef jacket. But when Audrey is captivated by NFL quarterback Chris Wilson, she realizes that her past isn't as far behind her as she thought. He doesn't know about her history. He doesn't ask any questions. Haunted by his own dark secrets, Chris keeps their burgeoning relationship where it feels safe-just on the rickety side of stable. Unreservedly inviting each other in could threaten their relationship, careers, and entire identities. When Chris' past is exposed, Audrey struggles to overcome her deepest insecurities. She does believe in second chances, but for some, a second chance is two too many. Will Audrey be able to live up to her name and give herself that second chance, or will her past control her future forever? Strong. Brave. Powerful. is a women's fiction novel raising awareness of the aftermath of domestic abuse for both men and women. Without graphic description, I highlight a major issue in America today that rarely gets discussed outside of celebrity news stories. Domestic abuse has lasting effects on those it touches including the victims, their friends, and their loved ones. Strong. Brave. Powerful. brings attention to the topic while telling the story of strength and recovery. It also includes so many of my favorite things: cooking competition, plenty of strong women, good food, a little humor, and a bit of football. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. Warmest wishes, Cheryl LeJewell

Medieval society was dominated by its knights and nobles. The literature created in medieval Europe was primarily a literature of knightly deeds, and the modern imagination has also been captured by these leaders and warriors. This book explores the nature of the nobility, focusing on France in the High Middle Ages (11th-13th centuries). Constance Brittain Bouchard examines their families; their relationships with peasants, townspeople, and clerics; and the images of them fashioned in medieval literary texts. She incorporates throughout a consideration of noble women and the nobility's attitude toward women. Research in the last two generations has modified and expanded modern understanding of who knights and nobles were; how they used authority, war, and law; and what position they held within the broader society. Even the concepts of feudalism, courtly love, and chivalry, once thought to be self-evident aspects of medieval society, have been seriously questioned. Bouchard presents bold new interpretations of medieval literature as both reflecting and criticizing the role of the nobility and their behavior. She offers the first synthesis of this scholarship in accessible form, inviting general readers as well as students and professional scholars to a new understanding of aristocratic role and function.

Be Brave Be Strong

“Be strong.” It made me feel slightly better, so I chanted it over and over. “Be brave. Be strong. Be brave. Be strong. Be brave.” As I chanted, a strange, shrill, almost otherworldly sound erupted from my backpack.

I thank my Heavenly Father for the opportunity to write this book for children. Children need to know how much God loves them and that he has a plan for their lives. Parents need to read and speak God’s Words (Holy Bible) over their lives, letting them know they are unique individuals on this earth. It’s time for our children to know to speak positive words, to think positive, to be brave, to be strong, and to be bold in Jesus’s name. Ephesians 5:1 states, “Therefore be imitators of God [copy him and follow his example], as well-beloved children [imitate their father].” We need to intimate our Heavenly Father, so let’s start now while children are still in the womb. In Psalm 139:1–24 and Matthew 5 (AMP), children need to know and learn who they are in Jesus. Parents, it is our duty to teach them biblical principles to grow up to be strong men and women of God, knowing who they are. They’re our next generation.

Discover the power of vulnerability and bravery and learn how to rise strong when life knocks you down. Life is tough. Sometimes life knocks us down, and when we fall, it hurts. When we struggle and find ourselves in the deep, dark recesses of our minds, it can feel as if the weight of the world is on our shoulders. Luckily, social scientist Brené Brown’s research reveals the power of vulnerability and bravery in creating a life of joy, love, creativity, and belonging. Of course, living a brave life won’t always come easily; inevitably, life will knock us down. How we rise from that fall, however, is important. Throughout Brown’s research, she listened to a wide range of people: leaders of Fortune 500 companies, artists, couples in long-term relationships, teachers, and parents as they shared their stories of being brave, falling, and getting back up. What did each of these people have in common? Each person recognized the power of emotion and wasn’t afraid to lean in to discomfort. When we try to rise from the fall, our courage is tested. But no matter the struggle, the process of rising strong is the same. Throughout Rising Strong, you’ll learn why being brave means taking a risk and how to use the rising strong process to change your perspective.

Award-winning author Mary Kassian provides readers a biblical guide to becoming the strong, resilient, capable women God created them to be. Our culture teaches us that it's important for women to be strong. The Bible agrees. Unfortunately, culture's idea of what makes a woman strong doesn't always align with the Bible's. As a result, Christians often have a skewed view of what constitutes strength. In The Right Kind of Strong, Mary Kassian delves into Paul's exhortation in 2 Timothy about the women of the church in Ephesus and uncovers warnings and truths about seven habits that can sap women's strength. She reveals how, by guarding against these seven pitfalls, Christian women can walk in freedom and grow to be strong God's way.

Noises can be heard, too, but no one is brave enough to go in and explore them. And if you are brave enough, you had better not be too cocky. And you had better be able to stand your ground, and firmly so. Because this certain being is darker than the night itself, and he will surely terrify you to the core. And depending on his mood, he may just kill you. There is also a chance that he may let you pass, unscathed. Is family blood stronger than a dead man’s pain? It’s going to have to be up to eighteen year old Charlie Ladner, as well as an old man friend of his, to find out. They need to see that the terrorizing stops. The old man has been waiting for Charlie so that they can get the plan in motion, but Charlie just doesn't know it yet.
