The author Sri Anil Sharma was born in Ambala, India. He graduated as an electrical engineer in 1980, after which he travelled for a period of three years throughout the Indian subcontinent, in search of the truth. Since 1993 over a period of seven years he read more than nine hundred books written and referred to by great spiritual masters, attained various siddhis, toured many countries around the world and gave lectures. This book is the outcome of his spiritual experiences and guidance received from sages and spiritual masters during deep states of meditation. However, inspite of experiencing the rising of cosmic currents in his body, having attained a heightened awareness of reality, and achieving many tasks in spirituality, like writing books and genuinely helping many aspirants in the path of spirituality, his own quest of knowing and gaining personal experience of self realisation remained unfulfilled. In the year 2000 he came across the teachings of Sri Ramana Maharshi, in whom he found all the answers to his spiritual quest and took him as his Sat guru. The author currently resides in Australia, works in his profession and also runs a small centre in Sydney called Sage Sri Ramana Maharshi Centre of Learning Sydney

Although western humanity has conquered the outer world with the aid of technology and science, death remains an unsolved and largely unexplored mystery. Rudolf Steiner, an exceptional seer, was able to research spiritually the question of what happens to human consciousness after the physical body passes away. In these remarkably matter-of-fact lectures he affirms that life continues beyond death. Far from being dissipated, the individual's consciousness awakens to a new reality, beginning a great journey to the farthest expanses of the cosmos. Here it embarks on a process of purification and preparation. Rudolf Steiner indicates that one of the most important tasks for our present civilization is the reestablishment of living connections with those who have died. He gives suggestions as to how this can be done safely, and describes how the dead can be of help to those on earth.

This book is powerful because it presents knowledge, information, insights, discoveries, experiences, and rational, compelling evidence of life and consciousness after the event I call death. Followers of the early New Age movement known as New Thought, which was wildly popular at the turn of the 20th century, were intensely interested in gleaning the fruit of all of humanity s spiritual wisdom. Here, in this curious volume originally published in 1909, one of the most influential New Thought writers and editors introduces Western readers to Eastern thought on what, exactly, is on the other side of the river of death. From the geography of the astral plane to the soul-slumber that occurs after death, from communication with spirits to what lies beyond reincarnation, this is a fascinating look at the pop spirituality of a century ago.American writer WILLIAM WALKER ATKINSON (1862 1932) aka Theron Q. Dumont was born in Baltimore and had built up a successful law practice in Pennsylvania before professional burnout led him to the religious New Thought movement. He served as editor of the popular magazine New Thought from 1901 to 1905, and as editor of the journal Advanced Thought from 1916 to 1919. He authored dozens of New Thought books including Arcane Formula or Mental Alchemy and Vril, or Vital Magnetism under numerous pseudonyms, some of which are likely still unknown today.

Example in this ebook I. Sociality the basis of religion—Its definition. I. We shall meet, in the course of this work, many different definitions that have at one time or another been given to religion. Some were assigned from the point of view of physics, others from that of metaphysics, others from that of morals, almost none from that of sociology. And yet, upon closer scrutiny, the notion of a social bond between man and the powers superior to him, but resembling him, is precisely the point in which all religious conceptions are at one. Man becomes truly religious, in our judgment, only when above the human society in which he lives he superimposes in his scheme of the world another society, more powerful and more cultured, a universal and, so to speak, a cosmic society. The sphere of sociality, which is one of the characteristics of humanity, must be enlarged till it reaches to the stars. Sociality is the firm foundation of the religious sentiment, and a religious being might be defined as a being disposed to be sociable, not only with all living creatures with whom experience makes him acquainted, but also with the creatures of thought with whom he peoples the world. That religion consists essentially in the establishment of a bond—at first mythical, and subsequently mystic, in the first instance between man and the forces of the universe, then between man and the universe itself, and ultimately between man and the elements of the universe—is distinctly the outcome of every study of religion; but what we wish especially here to consider is the precise way in which this bond has been conceived. Well (it may appear more clearly at the close of this inquiry), the religious bond has been conceived ex analogia societatis humanæ: the relations, amicable and inimical, of men to each other were employed first for the explanation of physical phenomena and natural forces, then for the metaphysical explanation of the world, of its creation, conservation, and government; in short, sociological laws were universalized, and the state of war or peace which existed among men, families, tribes, and nations was conceived as existing also among the volitions which were fancied to exist beneath or beyond the forces of nature. A mythic or mystic sociology, conceived as containing the secret of all things, lies at the basis of all religions. Religion is not simply the expression of an anthropomorphism—animals and fantastic beings of various sorts have played no inconsiderable rôle in different cults; it is an imaginative extension, a universalization of all the good or evil relations which exist among conscious beings, of war and peace, friendship and enmity, obedience and rebellion, protection and authority, submission, fear, respect, devotion, love: religion is a universal sociomorphism. Social relations with animals, with the dead, intellectual and social relations with good and evil genii, with the forces of nature, are nothing more nor less than various forms of this universal sociology in which religion has sought to find the reason of things—of physical phenomena such as thunder, storm, sickness, death, as well as of metaphysical relations—the origin and destiny of things, and of moral relations—virtue, vice, law, and sanction. In Africa, the emphasis on family, marriage, and offspring suggest that there is a kind of an unwritten ancestral law that imposes on every male the duty of begetting a son. The reason is because the core of African ‘soteriology’ is centered on offspring. The predicament of the childless couples, therefore, stems from the desire for immortality and salvation that culminates in the admission of the dead into the ancestral world. This quest for salvation and immortality constitute social, emotional, psychological, and spiritual problems for Christian as well as non-Christian childless couples.

Where has science and faith gone wrong? What has brought us to religious and scientific conflict? Why has one faith or another taken on the role of fanatically converting the earth's population and at what expense? When we die, what can we expect from a scientific view as opposed to a faith-based view of eternity? Can the two be reconciled? What are our spiritual responsibilities, as we evolve individually and as a species? These are humongous questions which are addressed in a very word-economic way. Cutting to the chase, through eons, we will explore man's growth from the cave to the Ritz Carlton. Barry Wachs, Ph.D. attempts to lay a sound foundation for an entirely new paradigm for life after death. A paradigm that will not destroy or alter your faith or the way you worship or connect to God or a higher power, but rather give you a sound science-based theory that will support your doctrines and beliefs as long as they do no harm to others. A paradigm that can guide you to a new understanding of eternity. About the Author Over the years, like any good psychologist, Barry Wachs, Ph.D. has explored many theories and approaches to the behaviors of man, including the work of Jung, Pearls, Parkinson, and Neurolinguistic programming. He is a certified Clinical hypnotherapist, and attributes much of his insight to the work of David Quiggly. He was licensed in Arizona for over 20 years as a naturopathic physician. His curiosity has taken him far beyond his birth into Judaism, and he has studied numerous religions and beliefs, and has delved into behavior of hundreds of patients over the years. Barry's other work includes 14 years as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor and a therapist in a major acute mental/psychiatric hospital. He presently practices as a holistic, alternative health practitioner in Citrus Heights, California and is listed in Who's Who in California.
