Does ETI existence spell the death of Christianity? The increasingly popular answer is "yes". Marie George argues, to the contrary, that Christian belief is compatible with ETI existence, by examining Roman Catholic teaching and Scripture. She then makes a case that while Christian belief does not exclude ETI existence, it does render it improbable. George goes on to expose the faulty reasoning behind the common opinion that science indicates that the universe surely contains other intelligent life forms. She closes with speculations on what the Catholic Church might eventually say about ETIs. Central to her analysis is the cosmic role of Christ."I appreciate arguments like those in Christianity and Extraterrestrials?, laid out carefully and investigated thoroughly. If more writers proceeded with Dr. George's care and courtesy, there would be new hope for peace in the world."John L. Barger, Ph.D. Publisher, Sophia Institute Press"Although some of Dr. George's claims are controversial, she is clearly an author seeking the truth and open to opposing arguments. Moreover, she has sought out the best sources and used them wisely-in short, an admirable scholarly presentation."Michael J. If we have learned anything from recent advances in cosmology and astronomy, it is that we have only barely begun to comprehend the vastness of our universe and all that it contains. For Christians, this raises some fascinating questions: If there are intelligent beings out there, what would be their relationship to what Christianity claims is a special history on Earth of life with God? Would the fact of persons on other planets banish or modify our understanding of God? Would it reduce the importance of Jesus? What role might goodness and evil play in extraterrestrial civilizations? Might God have incarnated himself among other races of creatures, as he became incarnate as Jesus among us? Respectful of the sciences that disclose the reality of the universe, Thomas O'Meara wonders about good and evil, intelligence and freedom, revelation and life as they might exist in other galaxies. In this book, one possible aspect of the universe we live in meets the perspective of Christian revelation.

Early Christians spoke about themselves as resident aliens, strangers, and sojourners, asserting that otherness is a fundamental part of being Christian. But why did they do so and to what ends? How did Christians' claims to foreign status situate them with respect to each other and to the larger Roman world as the new movement grew and struggled to make sense of its own boundaries? Aliens and Sojourners argues that the claim to alien status is not a transparent one. Instead, Benjamin Dunning contends, it shaped a rich, pervasive, variegated discourse of identity in early Christianity. Resident aliens and foreigners had long occupied a conflicted space of both repulsion and desire in ancient thinking. Dunning demonstrates how Christians and others in antiquity capitalized on this tension, refiguring the resident alien as being of a compelling doubleness, simultaneously marginal and potent. Early Christians, he argues, used this refiguration to render Christian identity legible, distinct, and even desirable among the vast range of social and religious identities and practices that proliferated in the ancient Mediterranean. Through close readings of ancient Christian texts such as Hebrews, 1 Peter, the Shepherd of Hermas, and the Epistle to Diognetus, Dunning examines the markedly different ways that Christians used the language of their own marginality, articulating a range of options for what it means to be Christian in relation to the Roman social order. His conclusions have implications not only for the study of late antiquity but also for understanding the rhetorics of religious alienation more broadly, both in the ancient world and today.

From 'An Ethic for Christians and Other Aliens in a Strange Land': America is a fallen nation. Americans exist in time, in the era biblically called the Fall. America is a demonic principality, or conglomeration of principalities and powers in which death furnishes the meaning, in which death is the reigning idol. Enshrined in multifarious forms and guises, it enslaves human beings, exacts human sacrifices, captures and captivates Presidents as well as intimidating and dehumanizing ordinary citizens. Strong statements, yes, but timely in the biblical context which forms William Stringfellow's perspective of our contemporary situation. Identifying America as a fallen nation with the parable of Babylon in the Book of Revelation - not with Jerusalem the holy nation, as Americans are naively and vainly wont to do - Dr. Stringfellow issues as trenchant an indictment of our society as has been made since Philip Wylie's 'Generation of Vipers'. Shockingly prophetic, dismaying, and sobering, William Stringfellow's rigorous biblical theology will surely offend the self-righteous. But the citizen of Jerusalem, alien in Babylon, will welcome the bluntness and insight with which he speaks.

So you are a Christian and saw a UFO ! Where in all your church teachings, bible studies and classrooms at school - put that! I mean how can a Christian integrate UFOs with the Protestant and Catholic teachings.Well, now you have the answers in this a 250-page book. Nowhere in Protestant and Catholic churches today do we hear sermons on UFOs and their occupants. My thoughts are we should. The Catholic church has been discussing how to prepare their parishioners for this reality. Yet the Protestant church is utterly silent. This book was written for members of any Christian Church, Pastor or Christian Counselor. It is a book about hope and understanding about UFOs, and their occupants are children of God. Suppose, you have just seen a UFO or have a friend or loved one who has had an extraordinary extraterrestrial event. What do you do? Who do you confide in about this bizarre experience? Are you scared, feel lonely and going crazy about extraterrestrials and your recent UFO sighting and need someone to talk to on the matter?UFOs and Extraterrestrials is a book prepared by a Christian to all Christians, and it is about Hope. We need hope in times of desperation. If you, family member or a friend, witnessed a UFO or an extraterrestrial visit, you have just experienced trauma to your Mind (Psyche) and Physical Body. I decided to write this book as a result of my own sightings and how I came to reconcile these traumatic episodes with Christ after many years of struggling with the topic. At the time, I found no literature on the market as to how to deal with the trauma (psychological impact) of UFO sightings and visitation from a Christian perspective. We can feel lost, alone and abandoned during UFO events, as we have no one to talk to about this life-altering experience or we can take this book and study the contents. Our spouses and friends, whom we love dearly, may have never had such experience, and lack the empathy or skills to understand what we have just learned. In fact, many spouses and friends do not know what to make of our individual experience, though it really happened. They will call you delusional, but you aren't. It doesn't help the U.S. government has continued to debunk the UFO phenomenon for 70 years, despite;1. Thousands of retired military officers, police officers, commercial and military pilots from around the world and Astronauts are now confirming it's all true;2. Astronomers have confirmed they have photographed them;3. Millions of citizens in the United States, Britain, Brazil, Russia and other corners of the earth have witnessed them. The fact is "UFOs, and their occupants are Real," and you just became an unlikely participant in God's grander scheme. This book assists the walking wounded on an individual journey of faith as we learn to cope, reconcile and normalize an extraordinary experience that is literally "out of this world." We discuss the origin of man and how these interstellar brothers and sisters came to be one part of God's desire for creation.Though we may feel abandoned during this time of pain and suffering, we are never alone, as The Lord is walking next to us showing the way. We learn of God's desire for creation, his love of diversity in his creation scheme, that he loves each one of us, as we are uniquely designed by him.We will discuss one Christian theory of how this all came about and how extraterrestrials, just like Man / Woman and Angels are his precious gifts to the Universe. The Lord is here to listen to each and every one of us in our time of grieving the world we once knew has now changed and helps us toward a new perspective that he loves each and every one of us.John Chace, a business executive, has his Masters in Christian Counseling and served, for a time, as a volunteer on KCIT (Keystone Crisis Intervention Team), NOVA (National Organization for Victims Assistance) as well as schools Crisis Intervention Team.

Speculation regarding the plurality of worlds and the existence of intelligent extraterrestrials has remained an important question for Christian theology from antiquity until modernity. Advancements in space science now reveal a vast universe containing trillions of galaxies, and new discoveries of exoplanets, providing an unprecedented greater context and perspective in consideration of the place of humanity, possible intelligent extraterrestrials, and the role of divinity in relation to creatures. These scientific discoveries have increased the importance of understanding the relation of extraterrestrials to the Christian doctrines of the incarnation and redemption. An examination of the history of developments in scientific and theological thought on extraterrestrials, from antiquity to the twenty-first century will demonstrate a consistent pattern of theological formulations of extraterrestrials and their relation to Christian theology, however, without sufficient resolution. En route, this book explores ideas of extraterrestrial ‘anthropology’, psychology, morphological possibilities, sociological compositions, extraterrestrial religions, implications of contact, and argues for a ‘divine pedagogy’ of potential modalities of supernatural presence and action with extraterrestrial intelligences.
