A writing journal with 52 writing prompts for an argumentative essay or academic debate, plus space to respond. Each prompt takes the form of a statement to agree or disagree with.
Author: Alphabet Publishing
A collection of 52 writing prompts, one for every week along with blank pages to respond. Each writing prompt is a debatable statement for students to respond to. There's a wide range of topics, of the sort often found in standardized tests like the TOEIC, the IELTS, or English class exams. This writing journal was designed for ESL and EFL students studying the opinion or argumentative essay in English class. But it's perfect for debate club, or even as a way of keeping your mind flexible.
Is it better to move forward, or just stand on your principles, and never progress? This book will explore twenty-six areas of disagreement, one for each letter of the alphabet, that we may never reach a consensus on.
God knows there is a lot we disagree about. There are cable channels, and even that rare endangered species, the AM radio talk show "personality," that exist to amplify, nurture, and encourage those disagreements. It's as though we have forgotten that we have anything in common with others, and it almost seems as though we have lost sight of the belief that we are all in this together. Now, especially if you are a member of Congress, you can be voted out of office for agreeing with or even listening to an opponent on " the other side of the aisle." Heavens to Betsy, how did we get to this point? Will we ever again respect people that listen? Will we ever again see virtue in " agreeing to disagree," a prerequisite for getting things done? Will compromise always be seen as a weakness, and not strength? Is it better to move forward, or just stand on your principles, and never progress? This book will explore twenty-six areas of disagreement, one for each letter of the alphabet, that we may never reach a consensus on. Hopefully, after reading this book, the reader may find value in agreeing to disagree and moving on, and see that course of action as strength, and not a weakness. This book has three target audiences: 1.The follower of current events with strong beliefs, that would like to " move on," and work towards agreeing to disagree so that can be accomplished. 2.The college student that wants to really explore critical thinking, and maybe impress the heck out of their professor on an essay test. 3. The casual reader that loves to be challenged and seek out information to challenge others.

This work is the result of a vivid imagination. What you are about to read is a rarity; A brand new theme in a brand new setting. The style is futuristic fiction that could very possibly be a glimpse into our own future. There are no other parallels between this work and any other. The ideas for this work came to me in the middle of the night in the form of dreams. What you are about to indulge in is the equivalent of fine Swiss chocolate or pheasant under glass, but for the mind. It is a journey that cannot be described. You just have to experience it. The setting is in the year 2037. Chalk Weeland and a Cajun freshwater shellfish farmer has to make a choice. Should he stay in a land that is drying up due to increasing temperatures and decreasing opportunities or should he make a move to Antarctica where new minerals have been discovered and work is plentiful and the rewards are bountiful? Chalk and his family will journey through basic colonization and the building of a school, raising their children and getting involved in their community and in their Church. There are struggles along the way that include dealing with a sickness that threatens to take the lives of some of the key characters and to destroy everything that has been worked so hard for. There are subplots that include the building of a football team to help the colonist feel more at home on this block of ice and a passionate, but innocent young love between two teenagers from rival communities. You will get a glimpse of new technology and the invention of some very interesting devices that may be available to us in the not so distant future. The Weeland Family, along with their neighbors live in domed, comfort- controlled homes and take public transportation everywhere they go. You will need to take this food for the soul one slice at a time due to the rich savory subplots and the mind nourishing content. Enjoy!

Behavior of visitors on the Rainbow Trail, a Forest Service Interpretive Area in thc Lake Tahoe Basin, California, was surveyed by observation and by interview. Some significant differences between trail visitors and other kinds of outdoor recreation enthusiasts were discovered. Enjoyment was high, and learning, while moderate, exceeded expectations. The Stream Profile Chamber proved to be more significant as an attraction than as an educational tool.

Inclusive Cultural Empathy" shows readers how to reach beyond the comfort zone of an individualistic perspective and increase competence in a relationship-centered context. The authors weave their own layered multicultural experiences with procedural, theoretical, and practical lessons to bring readers a model for how they might infuse their own clinical work with inclusion and multicultural sensitivity. The authors present a broad definition of culture - to include nationality, ethnicity, language, age, gender, socioeconomic status, family roles, and other affiliations - and engage the reader with lively examples and exercises that can be adapted for classroom, supervision groups, or individual use. With this book readers will learn how to help clients explore, discover, and leverage those internalized voices of their "culture teachers" that teach us who we are, how to behave, and how to resolve our problems or find life balance.
