Evan Jameson travels to Dublin to meet Emily Cullen, an American poet he met online while searching for brutal imagery. He thinks the pictures take his mind off the ugliness he encountered when he was a child. Together, they plan on killing a man who abducted Emily and held her captive for four days; a man Emily calls The Monster. As they wait for him to arrive, they decide to live differently, following no one’s rules but their own. Their new life means they do not pay for anything with money, unless it is money they have stolen or tricked out of other people’s pockets. When they meet Mr. X, whose house they have turned into a squat, he introduces them to another kind of life, a life where Evan finds himself watching Emily have sex with other men. As each day passes by and their encounter with the man who abducted Emily approaches, Evan begins to understand how easy it is to slip into the mind of a monster. How easy it is to become that monster... Neophyte is a dark novel with scenes of both a violent and sexual nature. Using themes of fantasy, obsession, mortality and the supernatural, Eli Wilde and ‘Anna DeVine join forces to create a sinister, chilling read.

Dr. Phineas Parkhurst Quimby (1802-1866) was a lifelong resident of Belfast, ME and a clockmaker, by trade. From the late 1840s until the time of his transition, he wrote down his own particular philosophical, psychological and metaphysical views on life, death, health, religion and the mind. His early studies of hypnosis, then called mesmerism, led him later on to develop his unique method of healing for both mental and physical affirmities. Proud of his New England heritage, passionate in his love of liberty and equality for all, outspoken in his admonitions against what he considered aristocracy and priestcraft, empathetic toward the sick and suffering, he recorded his experiences, experiments and case studies of his own life journey's explorations into humanity and spirituality, in order to leave behind, for us, what he found, for himself, to be universally applicable truths, for the benefit of all mankind. For this reason, he wrote this book. (Hardcover Edition) (700 pages)

Named a best book of the year by Entertainment Weekly, Time, and The Chicago Tribune, and named a notable book by The New York Times Book Review and The Washington Post “Remarkable . . . With this book [Wolitzer] has surpassed herself.”—The New York Times Book Review "A victory . . . The Interestings secures Wolitzer's place among the best novelists of her generation. . . . She's every bit as literary as Franzen or Eugenides. But the very human moments in her work hit you harder than the big ideas. This isn't women's fiction. It's everyone's."—Entertainment Weekly (A) From Meg Wolitzer, the New York Times–bestselling author of The Female Persuasion, a novel that has been called "genius" (The Chicago Tribune), “wonderful” (Vanity Fair), "ambitious" (San Francisco Chronicle), and a “page-turner” (Cosmopolitan). The summer that Nixon resigns, six teenagers at a summer camp for the arts become inseparable. Decades later the bond remains powerful, but so much else has changed. In The Interestings, Wolitzer follows these characters from the height of youth through middle age, as their talents, fortunes, and degrees of satisfaction diverge. The kind of creativity that is rewarded at age fifteen is not always enough to propel someone through life at age thirty; not everyone can sustain, in adulthood, what seemed so special in adolescence. Jules Jacobson, an aspiring comic actress, eventually resigns herself to a more practical occupation and lifestyle. Her friend Jonah, a gifted musician, stops playing the guitar and becomes an engineer. But Ethan and Ash, Jules’s now-married best friends, become shockingly successful—true to their initial artistic dreams, with the wealth and access that allow those dreams to keep expanding. The friendships endure and even prosper, but also underscore the differences in their fates, in what their talents have become and the shapes their lives have taken. Wide in scope, ambitious, and populated by complex characters who come together and apart in a changing New York City, The Interestings explores the meaning of talent; the nature of envy; the roles of class, art, money, and power; and how all of it can shift and tilt precipitously over the course of a friendship and a life.

This book continues my story about the family of Reverend Nathaniel Wolde, his wife, Mary Catherine, and their friends, Patrick and Lucy O'Connor, and Albert and Martha Sawyer. It is a close friendship, and the husbands, proclaimed themselves to be brothers. The story is set in the 1850", near Fairmont, in western Virginia, close to the Mononghela, River. The Woldes have five children, sons, Roy and Riley, and daughters, Martha Jane, Sarah, and Lucy; Patrick and Lucy O'Connor have two sons, Sean and Michael and a daughter, Megan. The Sawyers, having no children, adopted those of their friends. The book begins with the return of the Wolde family, and the O'Connor children, from New York City, where they had spent Christmas. None of them had ever been outside Marion County before, and it was quite an experience. The second Wolde son, Riley, returned to Scotland with his uncle, Ian MacTavish, to live with his grandfather, Baron Robert MacTavish, in Dunne, Scotland. James Marsden, Superintendent of Construction for the B & O Railroad, was impressed by young Sean O'Connor, and offered him a job with the railroad, saying he would send the young man to Baltimore to finish his education, the from there to college, to become a full-fledged engineer. Thus, his career began. Reverend Wolde and his two "brothers" formed a company to buy and sell land. Knowing he would not have time to look after the family farm, he gives this responsibility to Roy. The young man tells his father he cannot manage the farm with all the horses, cattle, and sheep they own, and no help to raise crops to feed them; the animals had to go; he would make money by cutting timber. Roy convinces Michel O'Connor to become his partner in the venture. The two young men form a bond that is never broken during their lifetime. It was further enhanced when they each married the other's sister; Roy and Megan, Michel and Martha Jane. The book deals with all their successes as well as the heartbreaks they encounter. It follows young Sean O'Connor through the beginning of his career as a railroad man. It introduces a new character, David Sullivan, who comes from New York City, to live with the Wolde family, and join Roy and Michael in their timber business. The story continues in Book # 3.

When morning came, Sandy was awakened by the phone ringing. Both Kodie and Miracle bounced up out of bed and ran before Sandy to the phone stand. It was David. He said, Sandy, would you be able to meet me at Halls Auto Repair this morning? The mechanic found something interesting about the car relating to the accident and he wants to talk to us both. Sandy told him, Sounds good. Let me get a shower and get dressed. Is 11:00 this morning a good time to be there? David replied, Yes, that would be great. I am very curious about what the mechanic has to show us and I will meet you there. As Sandy was taking her shower, she was having all kinds of thoughts about what the mechanic had found wrong with the car that may have been a contributor to the car accident, why Kim acted the way she did at the hospital with the avoidance of answering the questions Sandy and David were asking her, who the young, tall, dark and handsome cousin named Richard Sharp actually was and why he was hanging around Kim so much, flirting with her and making her laugh. Sandy remembered Kim getting all upset and flustered during the questioning process, though, begging off to be allowed to rest because she was too tired to continue. Yet, from Sandys acute observations upon her and David first arriving there, Kim wasnt tired at all when Richard was there, which made Sandy think to herself, Hmmmmm, how weird is that? Then, there was Brett, the small son Kim gave Stephen, and Stephen himself in ICU on life support, whom she seemed to pay little mind to. Sandy found this very odd about the behavior Kim was currently displaying, as well, since most mothers and wives would be very worried about their children and husbands, wondering how they are doing, asking about them at every chance they could, etc. This made Sandy wonder to herself if Kim had even bothered to step out of her hospital room at all, away from Richard, long enough to check on her husband and son in their own hospital rooms. All of these flashback thoughts about the hospital interrogation made Sandys strong intuition tell her that something wasnt co-sure at all, about anything regarding this case. She now understood why the sheriffs department called her and wanted her and David to do a more thorough investigation, because they also knew that something wasnt quite matching up with the statements they have gotten from Kim, who was the only one awake, lucid and could give a testimony. With this last thought in mind, Sandy got dressed and stepped out the door to meet David at the garage where the car was. In the meantime, she was praying while driving, Lord, I hope Im wrong and that this isnt what Im suspecting, that there is wrong with Stephens car that may have been done purposely. Even though things didnt end well with us in our divorce, I do not wish any ill on him and hope he will be ok soon, if for nothing else, but his sons sake. David waited at Halls on Sandy to arrive, and met the mechanic, named Jake Foreman, who also waited on Sandy to get there. Jake had been speaking to David, and told him, You both are going to be very interested in what I found and I hope it will help your case. David replied, We want a full report about what you have found after you tell us. Jake said, Yessir! No problem at all. Anything I can do to help you to solve the case, I am very happy to do. David immediately liked Jake. Jake seemed to be a hard-working, honest man who was more than willing to help and David was glad of that, because that is what would be needed to get the case resolved. When Sandy arrived, both of them went inside the garage with Jake, who had the car up in the air on the rack. Jake said, The car is totaled, as you may have noticed, and cannot be repaired. But, the most interesting thing I have found is underneath here. Jake pointed to a certain place under the bashed-in front of the car and said, Take a very close
