Seit rund 20 Jahren gibt es an der Universität des Saarlandes Forschung zum Thema Humankapital, sowohl zum Human Capital Management ('Saarbrücker Formel') als auch zum Human Capital Reporting. Während die bisherigen Arbeiten sich primär mit Deutschland befassten, geht es diesmal um einen internationalen Vergleich: -Das vorliegende Buch liefert zunächst eine Beschreibung des Reporting-Standards HCR10. - Danach folgen Analysen der HCR-Transparenz in Deutschland, Frankreich, Großbritannien, Italien, Kanada, Nigeria, Schweden und USA. Hier gibt es anregende Befunde: So präsentieren sich französische Unternehmen als transparent, Unternehmen aus den USA dagegen als vollkommen intransparent. - Das Buch schließt mit einem 'Call for Action', da der aktuelle Stand im Human Capital Reporting als absolut unzureichend erscheint. Hier sind Aktivitäten gefragt. Eine davon ist die Transformation vom HCR10 in ISO DIN 30414. Der HCR10 hat zwei Funktionen: Zum einen beschreibt er, wie und welche personalwirtschaftlichen Inhalte im Jahresabschluss (Geschäftsbericht, Nachhaltigkeitsbericht, Jahresabschluss, HR-Fact-Book) präsentiert werden sollten, zum anderen stellt er eine Messvorschrift dar, mit der die 'Erfüllungsquote' im Sinne von Transparenz gemessen werden kann. Zu beiden Funktionen liefert dieses Buch Informationen und bringt sie in einen vergleichend-internationalen Kontext.
