​Zuliefererkooperationen gewinnen in Unternehmenspraxis und wissenschaftlicher Forschung weiterhin an Bedeutung. Aufgrund der interdisziplinären Relevanz sowie der daraus resultierenden vielfältigen theoretischen Perspektiven gibt es jedoch bislang noch kein einheitliches Verständnis für Begrifflichkeiten und Managementansätze. Thomas Clauß nimmt eine umfassende begriffliche Einordnung der Zuliefererkooperation vor. Zudem werden zwei grundsätzliche Zielsetzungen vertikaler Kooperationen (Effizienz- und Effektivitätsziele) pragmatisch voneinander abgegrenzt.
