Corvettes built from 1968 through 1982 are somewhat unique collector cars for two reasons: 1) They can be purchased at relatively reasonable prices and 2) Their owners tend to be less concerned about absolute authenticity than other car collectors. This interchange manual advises owners of Corvettes from these model years as to which parts can be swapped across model years, as well as which parts from other Chevrolets can be used in their cars. An ideal, all-inclusive reference for owners who want to modify their cars at a nominal cost while expanding their modification options.

348 pages, with more than 200 illustrations and charts, size 5.5 x 8.5 inches. Originally published under the same title by Floyd Clymer in 1961 this revised edition was republished in 2015 by VelocePress. Written in easy to understand language, this is possibly the most user-friendly and comprehensive owner's workshop manual ever published for first generation 283 cu. in. V8 powered Corvettes. There are detailed instructions for the overhaul, service and maintenance of the major mechanical and electrical components. A section on RPO's identifies each option by part number, and their installation and effects on performance are discussed. In addition, there is a comprehensive section on the various fuel injection systems fitted to this series of Corvettes. Finally, there is a section on 'Increasing Power and Performance'. The reproduction of a factory handbook included in the original Clymer publication has been omitted due to the fact that there were numerous variations of the official Chevrolet handbook that were issued during the production run of this series of Corvettes. Therefore, it is recommended that this manual be used in conjunction with the 'Owners Handbook' that was issued with your automobile. Also, the 1960 AMA specifications have likewise been omitted as they are no longer relevant. Out-of-print and unavailable for many years, this book is becoming increasingly more difficult to find on the secondary market and we are pleased to be able to offer this reproduction as a service to all first generation Corvette owners, restorers and enthusiasts worldwide.

Ludwig Boltzmann

The Man Who Trusted Atoms

Author: Carlo Cercignani

This book presents the life and personality, the scientific and philosophical work of Ludwig Boltzmann, one of the great scientists who marked the passage from 19th- to 20th-Century physics. His rich and tragic life, ending by suicide at the age of 62, is described in detail. A substantial part of the book is devoted to discussing his scientific and philosophical ideas and placing them in the context of the second half of the 19th century. The fact that Boltzmann was the man who did most to establish that there is a microscopic, atomic structure underlying macroscopic bodies is documented, as is Boltzmann's influence on modern physics, especially through the work of Planck on light quanta and of Einstein on Brownian motion. Boltzmann was the centre of a scientific upheaval, and he has been proved right on many crucial issues. He anticipated Kuhn's theory of scientific revolutions and proposed a theory of knowledge based on Darwin. His basic results, when properly understood, can also be stated as mathematical theorems. Some of these have been proved: others are still at the level of likely but unproven conjectures. The main text of this biography is written almost entirely without equations. Mathematical appendices deepen knowledge of some technical aspects of the subject.

Relive the first one hundred years of Germany's best two- and four-wheeled rides. Established in 1916, BMW is one of the auto and motorcycle industry's oldest and most-respected car and motorcycle manufacturers. Over the past century, the company went through myriad developments. The BMW Century chronicles this remarkable transportation company through images of the cars and motorcycles it manufactured, from the 1923 R32 motorcycle to sleek electric cars of today. This handsome volume is filled with images, history, and in-depth looks at the incredible machines BMW created year after year. The BMW Century showcases how the company's new visionary team systematically rebuilt BMW in the post-World War II years into the spectacular success we know today - that is, a company with sales projected to be upwards of two million cars annually by 2016, led by its 3-series, the best-selling luxury-performance car in the world. BMW's motorcycle division is no less legendary. It began with the 1923 avant-garde R32, which featured a 180-degree, horizontally opposed twin, the engine configuration that would become BMW's hallmark. Along the way, BMW would use that configuration to power groundbreaking machines like the R90S, R100RS, and R80GS. Beginning in 1983, they would add three- and four-cylinder machines to their offerings, culminating in today's spectacular S1000RR sport bike. From the pre-war motorcycles to the iconic R-series twins of the 1970s and 80s to the mighty M-series cars and superbikes of today, The BMW Century offers a full review of German engineering at its finest. The book is illustrated with hundreds of historic, contemporary, and racing photographs - many sourced from BMW's archives - and detailed text relating the BMW's full history. This is the one volume no BMW aficionado can be without.

#1 New York Times bestselling author Iris Johansen and Edgar Award-winning author Roy Johansen are back with Look Behind You, a novel featuring Kendra Michaels—hired gun for both the CIA and FBI. A serial killer is on the loose in San Diego with a most unusual M.O. With each kill, the perpetrator leaves behind mystifying random objects. In this confusing array of unrelated evidence, the one thing that is clear is that the murders all have one characteristic in common: they all require the specific skills of Kendra Michaels, hired gun for both the CIA and FBI. Kendra, who was blind for the first twenty years of her life, gained her sight through a revolutionary surgical procedure and now uses her acute powers of observation to assist in cases all over the United States. FBI investigators soon make a startling discovery: the left-behind objects are actually souvenirs of other unsolved serial murder cases from around the country. And the new crimes feature “holdback” characteristics never disclosed to the general public—meaning that one single killer was behind the nation’s most notorious serial murder cases and has now come to challenge and taunt Kendra. The investigators—a “dream team” of profilers—join Kendra in the pursuit, but as the body count rises and the detectives themselves become the newest targets, Kendra must risk everything to defeat a psychopath whose terrifying plan is years in the making...

Growing up in a family where everyone came together at the dinner table, Elizabeth Hasselbeck savored the signature meatball, lasagna, and ziti dishes of her grandmother and great-grandmother, and the pierogies of her father’s heritage. But a decade ago, the Emmy Award–winning co-host of The View, New York Times bestselling author, and mother of three was diagnosed with celiac disease, and the family recipes she grew up with suddenly became strictly off-limits. Or so she thought. Getting rid of gluten, however, doesn’t have to mean giving up taste. Deliciously G-Free combines Hasselbeck’s knowledge for healthy living and passion for tasty food to bring you 100 delectable, easy-to-make, and family-friendly gluten free recipes. By adding a variety of other ingredients to the fridge and pantry, she’s perfected scrumptious gluten free versions of old standards and new creations that would make her relatives proud, including • Breakfasts to Remember: Fried Egg Sandwich with Chipotle Mayo, Coconut Raspberry Muffins, French Toast with Caramel Rum Bananas, Blueberry Waffles, and Frittata • All-Star Appetizers: Pork Pot Stickers, Stuffed Mushrooms, Smoked Salmon on Corn Fritters, Crab Cakes with Homemade Tartar Sauce, and Hot Artichoke Dip • Mouthwatering Main Meals: Excellent Enchiladas with Quinoa Cornbread, Mac and Cheese, Lasagna, Veggie Pad Thai, Chimichurri Flank Steak and Grilled Asparagus, and Buttermilk Chicken • Deliciously Irresistible Desserts: Chocolate Devil’s Food Cupcakes, Blueberry-Raspberry Cobbler, Chocolate Chip Cookies, Tiramisu, Yellow Birthday Cake, and Double Chocolate Brownies Loaded with gorgeous color photos, Deliciously G-Free also satisfies your taste buds with ideas for gourmet entertaining, kid-friendly concoctions, cool-weather comfort foods, and “Get Fit” gluten free recipes. Praise for Deliciously G-Free “Fried chicken, brownies, sliders, even spaghetti and meatballs and mile-high lasagna all gluten free?
